THE RAPID PLASMA FREEZER UNIT
A.C.T. RED CROSS BLOOD BANK
CANBERRA AUSTRALIA
This is the Rapid Plasma Freezer installed and operating at
the A.C.T. Red Cross Blood Bank in Canberra. The unit achieves virtually silent operation
due to a remotely located condenser and a minimum of moving parts.
The Freezer contains a fully automatic self diagnostic package which monitors the operation and general health of the machine which facilitates a very simple maintenance schedule.
The Rapid Plasma Freezer Unit Will Process up to 50 standard packs or 20 Apheresis
Packs in 1 hour with a core temperature of - 40 Degrees Celsius
This is a close up shot of the inside work area of the freezer.Freezing is achieved by direct plate contact to one side of the bag and conventional air blast to the other. The air blast allows the machine to drop into a standby / storage mode in accordance with the Australian Standard AS 3864 when fitted with the optional chart recorder.

car park
under the building.
